Hurt Feelings
âWhatâs happening Jimbo?â Red asked when he picked up the call.
Jimbo replied, âNada. Sara said to give you a call, she said you might need a hand.â
Red stopped himself from clarifying why they were talking, he was helping Jimbo, not vice versa. Instead, he replied, âYa, I might have something. When can we meet up? I donât discuss work on the phone.â
Jimbo had been hoping to put this to bed with a quick phone call and half ass excuse, but said, âName it and Iâll be there.â
Red, taking control, replied, âIâm in the middle of something now, so Iâll call you when Iâm free,â and hung up.
Jimbo looked at his phone and said to himself, âAnd he fuckinâ hangs up on me. This isnât going to be good.â

After Carlo spoke with Red he briefed Chaffy and Big Lou. Carlo said, âSo, Jimbo is waiting for a call from Red to discuss this âwork.â I think I should just go with Red to the meeting. Get the intro right out of the way. What do you guys think?â
Chaffy replied after thinking the idea through, âThat might work and it saves us a lot of time and resources if you can get Jimbo comfortable. It could also blow an outstanding opportunity Carlo.â
Big Lou interjected, âIf Jimbo is spooked and walks away from the meeting, depending on what is actually said, we could still try again with a different approach.â
Chaffy agreed with Lou and continued, âOk, that all makes sense. But Carlo, what is our angle here. We got a half kilo of coke and two of our three suspects are dead. If the info we got is right, our sole surviving suspect, who is family to the Cobras MC, was allegedly the buyer. That leads me to believe that the Cobras may be looking for a supplier. Are you considering a reverse?â
Carlo replied, âBig Lou and I believe that would be our best option.â
Chaffy, talked it through, âSo we play the seller role instead of the buyer. I assume you have thought about the cover story?â
Big Lou explained, âThe rough plan, which we all know will change as we go, is to tell Jimbo we have a couple kilos of cocaine and need him to broker a sale fast. If he knows Red at all he will assume itâs stolen and hopefully see dollar signs. It could also earn him some points for bringing in a replacement source because as you said Boss, they need a new supplier. The goal is our usual, to disrupt and dismantle their criminal organization.â
âSo how are you going to get around not actually having two kilos of coke? You know they always want to see it and test it,â Chaffy inquired.
Carlo replied, âOf course. That is going to be sketchy, but we figured we would cross that bridge if we get that far.â
Chaffy, satisfied, replied, âAlright, go ahead and see what you can shake loose. Big Lou, you are Carloâs mirror. Anytime he is with Red, you need to be close enough to make a difference if it goes to shit.
